UNITY: What does "unity in the body of Christ" mean?

By Loren Grace

What is unity in the body of Christ and how do we achieve this unity?

First, we must recognize that our understanding of what unity is and how to achieve it, is not God’s understanding of what unity is. God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9) and the wisdom of the world is foolish in the eyes of God (1 Corinthians 3:19).

Unity in the body of Christ is not found when people agree on and act on the same thing.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 —
Ephesians 5:1-20 —
Matthew 7:15-23 —

Unity in the body of Christ is found when we come under submission to the Head, which is Christ Jesus. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of mankind.

Ephesians 4:1-10 —
Ephesians 1:3-14 —
John 17:20-23 —
Colossians 1:15-23 —
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 —

Don’t be deceived by those workers of darkness who come in the name of a false Jesus and who are preaching a false unity.

Focus on what matters — a relationship with your Heavenly Father, something that is only made possible because of Jesus Christ — and allow His Spirit to transform you, bringing you under submission to Jesus Christ. This is where unity is found: not in following mankind, but in following Jesus Christ.

Tolerance is Not a Fruit of the Spirit

I, Carolyn, want as many people as possible to read this info, and do their own study and hopefully take this message to heart. Time is short. This time period we live in is a very serious time in the history of mankind. There are eternal consequences. This is no game, no sci-fi TV show series. This is the real deal. Jesus said to be ready. Do you even know what he meant by that? If not, I encourage you to go read his words in context and take his words to heart and follow him.

Note from me, Carolyn Hamlett, in regards to the above quotes in the image:

Do you even know what "the will of Jesus' Father in Heaven is? And how can you know? ... assuming you care to know.

From the same place the above quote came from... Jesus Christ in the Bible. Don't let someone spoon feed you. Go see for yourself. Read in context. Ask God to show you the truth.

If you are one who has been poisoned by someone's lies about the Bible and therefore you shy away from reading it, consider the points I bring out in this article of mine:

This article also has some points to see.

We have more information about Jesus than we do about "Alexander the Great" and more information about Jesus than we do about Julius Caesar, but we don't have people questioning whether "Alexander the Great" or Julius Caesar ever lived. Think about it.

And this article:

“If thine eye be single” Did Jesus teach the 3rd eye…
or did he teach something else?

The above article is actually about Jesus teaching us how to have Godly spiritual discernment. Read the scriptures in context for yourself. Pay close attention to what Jesus is saying. Many people miss his message. The ironic thing is that in Jesus' message, he is telling us WHY me miss the TRUTH! It has to do with where our heart's desire really is. There is so much more to following Jesus than most "christians" today realize, because they have no love for the truth. People take on the nature of what they serve.

Jesus said that he is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes unto the Father but by him.

Lots of people quote the verse in the Bible about testing the spirits, the part about believing Jesus came in the flesh....and yet have never wondered what that actually means. (1 John 4:1-3)

The key  to understanding what that reference is all about... is in Who he (Jesus) actually is and was before He gave it all up....and WHY He gave it all up! That entire message is KNOWING WHO HE IS and WHAT HE DID FOR US. To deny that Jesus came in the flesh is to deny that He is Who He is and to deny all that He did and accomplished, most importantly... doing what it took to save fallen mankind from eternal separation from God and eternal death. There was only way this could be done. That is why there is only one way and one Savior.
